Welcome!
In short, I am an Impressionist fine artist heavily influenced by “The Greats” while attracted to the energy and wild bravery of today’s young and innovative artistic approaches. I thrive in pushing the edge of the envelope of light and shadow, warm tones and texture, with rich and buttery oils. I am drawn to nature and it’s many splendored faces. I especially love painting sky, water, birds, flowers, and marshes but have often enjoyed and been commissioned for pet portraits, wedding images, historic architecture, and more.
ABOUT KATHY
I’m blessed to be married to my best friend, to live in beautiful Charleston SC, to have raised five of the most amazing kids while walking out my journey as a fine artist… and yet, every time I stand before an empty canvas something “magical” happens. Every stroke of the brush filled with buttery oils wipes away a layer of clutter in my soul. When I paint, I begin to view myself, this world and all its people through the eyes of a child again. I see things as they should be, as they will be, and I believe again.
